Description of the Hotel
Renovated in 2001, this resort comprises 5 floors with a total of 154 rooms of which 10 are single rooms, 132 are double rooms and 22 are suites. The spacious hotel foyer features a 24-hour reception desk, a lift, a cloakroom, a safe and a currency exchange facility. The tradition-rich building with individual service and Portuguese traditional flair features a hairdresser's salon, a TV lounge, a conference room, a café Atlantic Club port lounge as well as a piano bar with a patio. Furthermore, there are 2 air-conditioned restaurants with highchairs for infants within the hotel, a restaurant offering Italian cuisine (Primavera) and an à la carte restaurant with local and international specialities (Dom Duarte). Guests may make use of the public Internet terminal, bike rental service, medical assistance, room and laundry services (additional fees apply). For younger guests, there is a well-kept garden complex with a playground and those arriving by car may take advantage of the car park and garage facilities.
Location Description
Surrounded by many pines and amidst beautiful scenery, this elegant hotel is located in the Algarve, in the famous exclusive villa complex of Vale do Lobo and just 200 m from the nearest long sandy beach. Located close by is Ria Formosa nature reserve and the hotel golf course, San Lorenzo (about 5 km away). The town of Almancil with its many shopping and entertainment venues is to be found just 5 km away. A diverse selection of shops, bars and restaurants are also situated in the surrounding area and it is some 20 km to the nearest airport.
Description of the rooms
The extremely spacious, comfortable rooms comprise a bathroom with a hairdryer, a balcony (views out over the golf course or the sea), a direct dial telephone, satellite and pay TV, a radio, a minibar, air conditioning and a hire safe. The junior suites are similarly equipped, but feature an additional combined lounge/ bedroom.
Entertainment and sports facilities
The greenery-filled grounds have a heated swimming pool with a separate children's pool as well as a sun terrace with a pool/ snack bar, sun loungers and parasols. Furthermore, for an additional fee, minigolf, billiards and a massage service are on offer. Table tennis, paddle tennis and tennis (3 hard courts) can be played and it is possible to go horse riding. The hotel's internationally well-known 18-hole San Lorenzo golf course lies some 5 km away. There is a varied seasonal entertainment programme and a kids' club (for those aged from 6 months to 12 years of age) with childcare and amusement.

Leave the airport and drive approximately 3 km until you see signs for Faro and Portimão. Turn right towards Portimão. This will bring you to main road EN 125. Continue for approximately 4 km and then turn right direction to Portimão. Keep on for approximately 3 Km and turn right to Almancil. Drive for a further 2 to 3 Km until you reach center of Almancil. By the traffic lights turn left to Vale do Lobo. Keep following the signs to Vale do Lobo, turning right twice. Do not turn anywhere until you find the entrance to Vale do Lobo, on your left, next to a Supermarket. On the roundabouts (4) continue through the front way. Le Meridien Dona Filipa is on the 5th roundabout on the left.
The hotel offers free rounds of golf during the following periods: 01st to 21st November 2008 (check outs), 24th January to 26th June 2009 (check outs) and 29th August to 31st October 2009 (check outs). Ask the hotel for further information. At the Grill Dom Duarte restaurant childrens under 6 years old are not allowed. Mini Club (seasonal) accepts children from 6 months to 12 years old.
