Description of the Hotel
The hotel was built in 1967 and completely renovated in 2003. It has a main building with 6 floors and the annexe block offers 3 floors with a total of 208 guestrooms, of which 192 are doubles and 16 are suites. Guests are offered a spacious lobby with lifts, a currency exchange desk, a games room, a cloakroom, a games room, conference facilities with Internet access and a 24-hour reception with a safe. There is also a café, a bar, a shop, a hairdresser's salon, a casino (over-18's only) and a restaurant with a sea view and a non-smoking area. Room and laundry services are at guests' disposal and there is a doctor on call. The hotel also offers parking facilities for those arriving by car, bicycle hire and a play area and kids' club for children.
Location Description
This popular hotel overlooks the beautiful sandy beach of Praia da Rocha on the western coast of the Algarve. The beach is easily reached down a flight of steps from the hotel. It offers the first hotel casino in Portugal and enjoys a lively setting by the promenade. From here, guests will find an abundance of shops and entertainment venues. The harbour, Marina de Portimão, is only minutes away. Public transport departs from stops directly in front of the hotel and the nearest airport is 65 km from the hotel.
Description of the rooms
The modern, tastefully decorated rooms come with an en suite bathroom with a bathrobe and hairdryer. In addition, all rooms include a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, radio, Internet access as well as a minibar, a safe, air conditioning and heating as standard. Moreover, each sea view room has a balcony or terrace overlooking the ocean.
Entertainment and sports facilities
The hotel has a saltwater pool with parasols, sun loungers, children's pool, a snack bar, golf and an entertainment programme. The Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath and massages are paid. The use of the gym is complimentary.
