Cannes is one of the most famous cities of the Blue Coast, due to the coastline and especially for its cinema festival. The city is situated in South-East France, and enjoys a warm and sunny climate that attracts many tourists and the stars of show business.
The Croisette is the principal tourist attraction of the city. It is a wonderful walk along the sea shore under the shadows of the palm trees. The Croisette has magnificent luxury hotels with international fame such as the Carlton, the Martinez or the Majestic.
In May of every year, the biggest cinema stars accommodate in these luxury hotels for the Cannes International Movie Festival, the most important movie festival of the world. Just like the Hollywood and French stars, you will be able to walk in the Festival Palace: Red carpet included! But beware, because this is only possible when the festival has finished.
The Lèrins Islands are at the same latitude as Cannes and you can get there by boat. It is an ideal spot if you are looking for a bit of tranquillity. One of the islands has a monastery!
Cannes region is ideal for visiting various precious cities. The city of Antibes is very close by and you can visit the fort or enjoy the magnificent Juan-les-Pins Beaches. If you go inland, you will discover the city of Grasse and its famous perfume shops.
From Cannes, you can easily get to the spa cities of the Blue Coast such as Saint-Tropez, Sainte-Maxime or Saint-Raphaël. You can also discover Niza and the typical interior towns such as Sain-Paul-deVence.
