Hamburg 110 km. De Oostzeebadplaats Weissenhäuser Strand is een vakantiepark zonder hoogbouw aan de Hohwachter Bucht, in een voor de Oostzee uniek duinenlandschap. Het strand is 3 km lang, waarvan ca. 400 m voor naturisten bestemd is. Het ene eind van het strand sluit aan, aan een prachtige beboste steile kust, de andere kant grenst aan een oefengebied van de "Bundeswehr" (het leger), verstoring van de rust is zo nu en dan mogelijk. Nauwelijks te geloven, maar serieus is, dat zich op de nabijgelegen Bungsberg (16 km) de noordelijkste skilift van Duitsland bevindt. De berg is geschikt voor beginners om te rodelen en skien. Mogelijkheid voor uitstapjes naar Laboe of Grömitz, evenals naar de steden Kiel, Lübeck en Hamburg en naar het eiland Fehmarn. Bij aankomst per vliegtuig: luchthaven Hamburg (HAM) 120 km, Rostock (RLG) 180 km.
