Inca is a cute village situated about 34km northeast from the capital Palma de Mallorca in the Inca-Valley, the so-called "Pla d'Inca". This flat land is characterised by a moist soil, so you will find a lot of almond and orange tree fields, but also different kinds of vegetables. Although being a rather small village, Inca offers several manors that are definitely worth visiting such as Son Vivot, Son Fuster, Son Bordils, Son Ramis, Son Vic and Son Perelló. A little outside the village the Gothic Chapel Puig de Santa Magdalena reminds of former ages and the Parish Church Santa Maria Major dates back to the 13th century and is built on the foundation walls of a mosque. Of course, in Inca you also have the possibility to try some typical Mediterranean food such as turkey with nougat or rabbit with spiny lobster. The most important festivals of Inca are La Fiesta de Santa Magdalena on Easter Sunday and San Abdon i Senén on the 30th of July. There is a daily market on the Carrer de la Pau and every Thursday you can buy different leather goods on the markets at Carrer Major and Placa del Mercat. Inca is the centre of leather industry and this market existed already 700 years ago.
