Location Description
Valls is located 20 km away from Tarragona and 17 km from Montblanc. Situated at 217 m altitude, it´s the capital of the region of Alt Camp, at the bank of the river Francolí and 15 km from the main beaches of the Costa Dorada and Port Aventura. The main tourist attractions of Valls are the Calçotada parties. These are the gastronomical festivals that are celebrated from november to march every year. Moreover, there are the Castellers which are human castles in which skill and force are mixed evenly. There are quite a few interesting monuments to visit. For example, the magnificent Sant Joan church, the city hall, the streets of Cort and del Call (old Jewry or jewish quarter) and the museum of Valls. The Calçotada allows you to taste typical calçots (large spring onions which are roasted and eaten with bare hands and mixed with a sauce containing tomato, almonds, garlic and chilli, followed by a selection of meats cooked on an open fire). Furthermore, there is music and a great atmosphere.
