Well-known resort with 24'000 inhabitants, in the eastern part of the region directly by the sea, convenient, 115 km south-east from Valencia, 60 km north-east from Alicante. In the resort: shopping centre, supermarket, shops, butchers, bakers, post office, bank, restaurant, bar, disco, folklore evenings, concerts, evening entertainment, museum, cinema, attractions. Wellness centre, fitness centre, sauna. Besides: chemist, doctor. Access: motorway AP-7, exit number "Benissa". Then road N332. Access via a good road. Railway station in the resort. Altea 10 km. Benidorm 20 km. Jávea 30 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Valencia-Manises (VLC) 130 km, Alicante-El Altet (ALC) 75 km. Sandy beach, bathing bays, harbour, diving, sailing, surfing. Golf course, 12 km. The famous symbol of Calpe is the "Penon de Ifach" a huge rock which rises up behind the fishing harbour. Market on Saturdays. Flea market on Wednesdays. Famous fiestas are at the beginning of Ausuts and fiestas for "Moros y Cristianos" at the end of October. Car recommended. During hot dry periods water could become scarce. Calpe is ideal for winter holidays too thanks to its mild climate.
