Description of the Hotel
This resort is a lakeside haven of style, comfort and exclusivity. Situated on the Praia das Gaivotas cliff overlooking the sea, with 12 hectare area consisting mainly of magnificent gardens, it has 120 junior suites, 2 presidential suites and 9 apartments. The low-rise architecture is marked by soft lines and colours. It includes one restaurant, dedicated to the sea, another with healthy diet menus and during high season another one with traditional portuguese food. There are 6 outdoor pools, four of which are seawater pools one of them heated. It also features one of its main trademark images: the thalassotherapy centre, the first in Portugal and one of the most respected in Europe.
Location description
This elegant spa hotel lies in a spacious parkland with luscious vegetation, directly overlooking the fine sand beach of Praia das Gaivotas (around 50 m away), which guests are offered private access to down a flight of stairs. The centre of Armação de Pêra is around 2.5 km away. The airport is located around 45 km from the hotel, Porches is roughly 5 km, Portimão around 16 km and Albufeira about 10 km from the hotel. Links to the public transport network are within easy reach for hotel guests, around 150 m away. Shopping venues are located around 5 km away, the nearest restaurants are 4 km away and there are plenty of bars and pubs roughly 3 km from the hotel.
Description of the rooms
The comfortable rooms come with an en suite bathroom, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a radio, a hi-fi and a minibar. In addition, the rooms are furnished with air conditioning (centrally regulated), central heating, a balcony/terrace, a seating area and a hire safe. Single junior suite only garden view.
Entertainment and sports facilities
There is an indoor swimming pool (only for treatments and therapies) and in the hotel grounds there are freshwater and saltwater pools with children's areas, as well as a snack bar and a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols. In addition, there is a health spa with a sauna, a steam room, a massage service and further spa treatments (including shiatsu massages, a beauty program, smoking weaning, Reiki, hot stone massages and osteopathy). Various water sports are offered close to the hotel, including sailing opportunities.
