Property Description
This charming 45m2 apartment is ideal for three people (third floor without lift) and is located very near to the Coliseum and the Foro Romano. The area surrounding the Colosseo is one of the oldest in the city and is characterised by its authentic and relaxing lifestyle as well as providing a perfect location to organize excursions to the many areas of archaeological interest nearby.
Just a short stroll from the apartment visitors will find the beautiful and cult ancient Roman Catholic Basilica of Chiesa di Santa Maria della neve. There are also a number of important, very beautiful churches including San Pietro in Vincoli, home to various works of Michelangelo (the Moses), and the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore y San Giovanni in Laterano that was the first Papal seat before the creation of the Vatican.
Other historical treasures in the area include the Domus Aurea, the Fori Imperiali, the Arco di Costantino and the colina del Palatino. However the majority of tourists are drawn to the area because of the Coliseum. Considered the true symbol of the city, it is the most important Roman amphitheatre and the most impressive monument representing ancient Rome to have withstood the test of time.
The accommodation is located close to several public transport options including metro line B and various tram and bus services that allow visitors to travel around the city and see its famous landmarks quickly and easily. The area offers a wide selection of restaurants that will satisfy all tastes, as well as a good selection of bars and shops. Two of the most typical Roman markets are just a short stroll from the apartment; one selling typical Italian food produce, the other Via Sannio is for clothing, and particularly famous for its vintage items (near the Piazza San Giovanni).
The apartment includes a spacious and sunny lounge that is furnished with a double sofa bed, a wardrobe where guests can store their luggage, a television and a table seating four for meal times. It also has an open-plan kitchen fitted with all hi-tech mod-cons including four hot plates allowing guests to prepare their favourite dishes. The modern bedroom with sloping ceiling provides an intimate, well-lit atmosphere. The spacious bathroom has a comfortable box shower that is a perfect spot for relaxing after a long day’s sightseeing around the Eternal City.

Location Description
A very central part of Rome, the Historic Area includes one of the oldest areas in the city: the Foros. In fact, this area boasts some of the best conserved remains of the Roman era.
This district is immersed in history and contains the city’s most important attractions particularly for those who really want to appreciate Rome as it was during the Roman period.
Its particular feature is the obvious urban stratification and a blend of buildings from a whole mixture of different eras: classical, medieval and renaissance with baroque revision; it is a true concentration of history and architecture.
The area has changed a great deal over the years and a large proportion was demolished at the end of the 19th century. In particular, the fascist era was very destructive, and in the 17th century this took its toll on the district that predates the construction of the Via dei Fori Imperiali, the street that cuts the Foros in half. A good view of the Foros can be seen from the top of the hill the Campidoglio, one of the seven hills of Rome. It is also the location of numerous palaces, including the Palazzo dei Conservatori and the Palazzo Nuovo, part of the Musei Capitolini , located at the Plaza del Campidoglio and both projects of Miguel Ángel. It is also home to the famous church Santa Maria in Aracoeli, the square Piazza Venezia and the complex Vittoriano, an homage to Italian unity. Just a short way from here other famous landmarks are the Coliseo, the Arco de Costantino, the theatre Teatro di Marcello that in medieval times was actually used as a fortress, the Portico di Ottavia, which marks the beginning of the gueto judío (Jewish Quarter) and is today characterised by its beautiful, emblematic Sinagoga.
The Historic Area is just a ten minute walk from the Campo dei Fiori, Circo Massimo and other districts located along the river bank. It is an ideal location to move around on foot to visit the city. However there are other alternative transport methods, and just five minutes away are the nearby Largo Argentina and Corso Vittorio Emanuele where there are numerous bus and tram stops and the possibility to catch a taxi.
