All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Access: exit number "Firenze-Siena". Then road SS68 Colle Valdelsa. Access via a winding road. San Gimignano 20 km. Situated in an elevated panoramic position over the hilly Valle di Cecina countryside, Volterra has a marvellous Old Town with evidence from several bygone eras. It was one of the Etruscan capitals, even retaining part of the old wall. The Guarnacci museum has one of the best collections of Etruscan artwork. Volterra is also well-known for the processing of alabaster. For arrivals by plane: airport Pisa (PSA), Firenze Pereto (FLR).
