Villa Palmieri is a fine example of rural architecture of the 18th century, during the Bourbon kingdom. This was the hunting lodge at the same time that Paestum, recently rediscovered, became the main destination of travellers from all over the world. This lodge has maintained the original elegant structure and features. Bourbon king Charles III, enthusiastic hunter, bought the land from the Duke of Serre and built the Real Casa of Persano.
