Location description
Kelso with its famous Silvery Tweed running through is one of the central Borders prettiest towns. There are many things to see and do in Kelso for instance there is the famous Kelso Races, Britain's Friendliest course, during mid July there is Kelso Civic Week steeped in history and tradition, the end of July sees the famous Border Union Show attracting visitors and competitors from all over, Kelso Abbey is another famous landmark, stood right in the centre of the cobbled market town. The town of Kelso is the largest Market Square in Scotland and further up the street is the embedded horseshoe, which according to local legend, was cast by Bonnie Prince Charlie's horse when he passed through in 1745 on his way to Derby.

From Kelso Town centre, from the town square, take the road south to the old stone bridge over the river Tweed and continue along this road, veering to the left at the JET petrol station until the T junction by the new bypass. Turn right onto the A698. Follow the road for 4.8 km. Once going through the village of Heiton will see signage for the hotel on right.
