Description of the Hotel
The charming, family-friendly hotel comprises of a Georgian Manor-house and our modern Garden Lodge, in which there are a total of 42 rooms. The Bodysense Country Club is a stone's throw from both. Among the hotel's facilities are an entrance hall, 24-hour reception, café, bar, restaurants and conference services. Laundry and room services are available (both for an additional fee), as well as parking for guests arriving by car.
Location description
The hotel stands on a plot of private land spanning over 30 hectares, surrounded by gardens and forest. Guests can enjoy the magnificent landscape of Somerset with views taking in over 30 km, and take the opportunity to investigate the historic Roman city of Bath, only a few minutes away by car. The tourist centre and numerous shopping opportunities, as well as a bus stop and train station are 5-10 minutes away. The hotel is ideally situated, not only for visits to the city centre's own attractions, but also for trouble-free access to sights a little further away, such as Longleat House and Safari Park, Castle Combe and Lacock Abbey. The drive to Bristol takes around half an hour.
Description of the rooms
The standard double rooms are in the 1st and 2nd floors of the Garden Lodge. Rooms come with en suite bath/shower, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, radio, CD player and, for an additional fee, WLAN Internet access. In addition, guests are provided with tea and coffee-making facilities, a double or king-size bed and central heating. The majority of the rooms also come with a balcony or terrace with garden table and chairs and a view over the garden, the tennis courts and the Limpley Stoke pool. The view and balcony or terrace cannot be guaranteed.
Entertainment and sports facilities
The hotel has its own outdoor and indoor pools, children's paddling pool, sun loungers and parasols. Guests are invited to make use of the sauna, solarium, steam bath, massage service and various other health programmes (some for a small additional fee). There are tennis courts, aerobics (for a fee) and a gym on site. There is also a five-hole golf course on the premises.
Further details
From the M4 take exit 18 and take the A46 towards Bath. Continue along the A46 for around 16 km and then take Bath City exit. At the junction take the third exit towards the city centre on the A4. Continue for a further 3 km, then take a left over the river and a right at the next set of lights. At the following junction take the first exit for the University. After 3 km guests will arrive at the university and will cross a small junction. The hotel entrance is just on the left hand side, around 300 m away.
The use of leisure facilities and parking is included in the price of the room.
