Description of the Hotel
This family-friendly historical hotel enjoys a prime location on the Oban seafront, the most popular west coast holiday town in Scotland. Recently restored to its original Victorian glory, the hotel is characterised by its high ceilings, spacious rooms, food and customer service. Its 50 modern and comfortable bedrooms are all recently refurbished but still retain their Victorian features, such as large windows and plenty of space. There are also two bars available, the Harbour Bar and Harbour Lights Bar. Further facilities on offer to guests include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception, lift access and a laundry service.
Location description
Long regarded as the Gateway to the Isles, Oban looks out onto a beautiful landscape of rolling mountains, lochs and islands, and is the perfect base for trips to Lismore, Mull, Iona and Fingal's Cave on Staffa. The town has a vibrant nightlife, and the hotel itself is well-placed for a visit to Oban's world famous whisky distillery. Situated on the island's North Pier, the hotel is just minutes from the ferry terminal, railway and bus stations.
Description of the rooms
All bedrooms offer a large bed, a TV, a direct dial telephone and a hairdryer. Tea and coffee making facilities are also included. Early morning wake-up calls, newspapers, an iron and ironing board and dry cleaning services are available from reception. All rooms come with an en suite private bathroom with a shower/bathtub and a radio and heating are also standard.
Further details
Guests arriving from Glasgow should take the M8 westbound to the A82 towards Loch Lomond and Crianlarich, then the A85, passing Loch Awe to Oban. Those coming from Inverness take the A82 to Ballachulish, then the A85 to Oban. The hotel is on the waterfront at the North Pier.
