Location Description

As the capital of Austria, Vienna offers a diverse program of cultural, athletic, and nature activities. Millions of tourists are attracted due to Vienna’s proximity to the Alps. A few of the famous tourist destinations are the Stephansdom Cathedral, The Schönbrunn Palace, The Hundertwasser House and the Hofburg. These are just a few examples for an unforgettable experience, but each visitor may select which sites to visit based on their own interests. You can take a walk, relax after a long day in the city, and observe the Viennese lifestyle in one of the many parks, such as Donauinsel or Wienerwald. There are also many physical activities like bicycling, Nordic walking, or trekking in the Alps, where you will find remarkable views. Another one of the Viennese’s passions is music. All year round you can marvel at one of Mozart or Beethoven’s compositions in one of many concert halls. It is advisable to acquire a brief summary of the history of the city in the History Museum of Vienna. They have a unique history, which transforms the city into a winter paradise with Christmas markets and the summers are sunny and fresh, ideal to go for a walk. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that in 2008 the European Football Championship will come to Austria and Switzerland.
